What wonderful pictures above, huh? The happy housewife at work.
A spotless home is lovely..and oh so relaxing....
But my confession for today: My house is a wreck!
This weekend we had a garage sale--a last minute decision (but worth it--Praise God, we did great!). I stayed up all night getting things ready, and pretty much tore the house up in the meantime.
Sunday we were at Bob's parents' celebrating his dad's 65th birthday! It was a nice day of relaxation..away from the mess!
Today, I'm ashamed to say, I finished reading a book, surfed the web, and watched the last of my recorded shows,--we're turning the cable box in tomorrow. I did a little bit of laundry and made dinner..but other than that, it was a very lazy day =( Guess what verse kept coming to mind?? Proverbs 31:27: "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness". Ouch.
I just look around the house and think..."Where do I begin?!"

I get overwhelmed when the whole house is a disaster. But I suggest you take it one room at a time.
ReplyDeleteI think it's fine for you to have lazy days...you need time to relax and tune out the stress of everyday life.
Plus I would agree that it's crucial to watch your recorded shows before you turn in the cable box. :)
Have a good week!
I think it was extremely important that you watch all your shows! The house will still be there to clean tomorrow... the cable box will not:) Lazy days are good for you - I tell myself they just allow me to work that much harder the next day. ha
ReplyDeleteoh girl...this is the story of my summer....
ReplyDeletei've been off all summer and always think, "I'll do this tomorrow..."
so bad, but...relaxing is a good, much needed thing, too right?

It will be okay Kari! Tackle one thing at a time and it will get cleaned up. You had a sale and it went well! I am like you, a messy home makes me stressed out..LOL But I had a friend tell me that my dishes will be there later, my laundry isnt going anywhere etc, but the time you have with your baby will be gone. So true! So many times when I should play with Cayden I am thinking, "okay gotta clean this, wipe this off, etc" and then I miss precious time with him. You will get it done, may not be as fast as you want though!! It is so hard to keep the house clean!! But lazy days are always good, heck you did a garage sale! That is BIG time work!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I know the feeling. Seriously housework NEVER ends. Glad you're taking a break. You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteThe good old Proverbs 31 woman!!! I wish… I wish, I could be half the woman she is. I feel like my home is always in shambles and never in order… God keeps reminding me that if I don’t take care of the one I have now he won’t trust me with something bigger. Ahhh… I also think that some women are too hard on themselves. I’m sure you’ll start somewhere!! Praying for ya! ;)
