4 years!

Today, Bob and I have been married 4 years!
He's my best friend and I honestly love him more and more each day.

I began praying for my future husband around age 13. My parents instilled in us kids the belief that God had someone special for us and that that person was worth praying for and waiting for. They were so right! Bob was my first boyfriend and my first kiss! He was worth the wait!

I can't believe how the time has flown by.

Here's part of the video from our wedding day...

I love you, Bob.
You are a wonderful husband and daddy!

Splish Splash, I Was Takin' A Bath...

...No, not me! Don't worry! =)

But here's Ethan during a recent bath time.
He always stays so calm during his baths. Thank God!

I was trying to make him laugh...it didn't work. haha

"Really, mom--do we need the camera in my face right now?!"

Getting dried off..

I love how snuggly Ethan is after a bath! It's one of my favorites!

Squeaky clean and happy!

Sweet little feet!

Sunday Selection

Conviction is worthless
unless it is converted into conduct.
- Thomas Carlyle

I chose this quote b/c lately I've been going through the routine on Sundays. I'll listen intently to our pastor, feel convicted and really gain something from the lesson, and be ready to go out and spread the Word to everyone I meet. Then, I step out the door and automatically think about lunch or if I'll get a nap that day or not. Nothing has really changed.
I need that conviction to turn into conduct!
Lord, change me.

Time For A Change

A friend on Facebook posted this recently and it really spoke to me so I thought I'd share it!

I said you'd be changed in My presence, saith the Lord. If you have not experienced change in your life, if your old ways are still prevailing, if your old man is still in evidence, you have not spent the time with Me that I desire. It isn't a matter of self-control or disciplining your flesh with no help from Me, saith God. If you'll spend time in My presence, you WILL be changed.

Your pattern of life will be changed. Your old man will begin to pass away. Your new man will begin to rise in the image of My Son. Your life will begin to bear much fruit. The evidence of your walk with Me will change as a result of spending much time in My presence.

If you're having trouble getting rid of an old habit, if you're having trouble with your marriage, if your family relationships aren't changing, you're not spending the time with Me that would enable that change to come to pass. Your desire and the motivation of your heart to walk uprightly before Me is a product of becoming so close to Me that you do not want to bring hurt to Me.

In natural relationships, when you love someone, you want to do the right things for them. You don't want to hurt them. Well, as you spend time with Me, saith God, as you spend time in My presence, we'll develop a relationship that is closer than any earthly relationship. It will shape the pattern of your living. You'll want to conform your ways to My Word simply because it's the desire of your heart. Your life will change; but it will be a product of your spending time with Me.

Ethan's First Fourth!

I know this is a little late, but here's a look at what Ethan's first 4th of July was like!

Outside our front door...I just love the American flag!

We went to Bob's parents' home during the day of the 4th...

Grammy (my mom) and Nana (Bob's mom) with Ethan!

Some Patriotic decor...

The table is set and ready for food!

Bob's dad grilling hot dogs...yummy!
He usually smokes all kinds of meat for summer holidays, but he decided to switch it up a bit. Here's his Father's Day gift from us--it's hanging out on the deck with his grill and smoker.

...so true!!

Ethan hangin' out with Grammy

All tuckered out!

The ferns were still wet from the rain...the neighborhood parade had to be postponed until Sunday b/c of the weather.

Me and my love

An American classic!

Homemade ice cream was served for dessert..it was soo good!! (I'm not sure what my bob is doing in the background..haha)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later that evening, we went to my sister's in-laws...
Aunt Kim with Ethan..his first fireworks show!
This picture makes me laugh! Aunt Kim trying to protect Ethan =)
Of course, the fireworks were loud so I decided to take Ethan in after he was able to see a few of them...
Here is Kim's nephew, Caleb.
He's such a cutie pie!
Daddy and Ethan playing inside
Me and my sweet boy!
Sunday, we were able to go to the parade before we headed off to church.
It was so much fun!
Ethan had an awesome first 4th of July!
I love America. I love celebrating our freedom!
