Parental Rights

Have you noticed a trend here in America lately?

It seems parents are having to fight harder every day just to maintain the right to parent their own children without interference.

And this case is no different. You can also read a longer, more detailed version here.

If you can contact Michigan's elected officials on this family's behalf, it would be greatly appreciated. The article will provide you with the links to do so.

Let us continue to be in prayer for our Nation.
I'm rather fond of the freedoms we've been given under the Constitution.
Especially now that I'm a parent.

Godly Change

I'm so upset with the current condition of our nation and the way our leaders are acting. All I can do is pray for change...well, godly change. Not the change our current president has promised. Anyway, I found this video on Youtube and really enjoyed it.

She Needs Her Freedom

Have you heard anything about Fathima Rifqa Bary? I hadn't until I ran across a video of her on Tangle.com. She's a 17 year old girl, raised in a Muslim family, who became a Christian. And she's scared for her life.

Because Islam doesn't foster religious freedom.

But according to two lectures I agonized sat through in college, it is a peaceful, tolerant religion. Hmm...things aren't adding up.

I'm posting the video of the girl--what a soldier for our Lord Jesus Christ!! Plus, here is a site that has been keeping up with her story in the news. Since we don't have cable anymore, I guess I could've missed her story in the national news....but, I'm guessing it wasn't broadcast because it's not really "important" ...plus I fully believe our Presi--ok--I'll stop there..before I say something I shouldn't.

Why do other religions seem to get special treatment?? Why isn't this story being plastered all over the place?? It upsets me. Can you tell?

They knew what they were talking about...

I grew up in a family that was very interested in politics; every get-together we had would always include some type of political talk amongst the men of the family. Because of that, I'm pretty interested in politics as well.

Obviously, this past election was HUGE in America's history. I've never watched so much news as I did during the election. I'm not happy with the outcome..at all..*oops, could that be labeled as a "radical right" statement? oh well..*

I'm trying to pray for our president; after all, he is our nation's elected leader and I know that the Bible commands us to pray for those in charge. WOW...it's hard. Especially lately. I often find myself wishing that our Founding Fathers were still around--they'd whip this nation into shape! I know they weren't perfect by any means, but I love to read about the strength and wisdom our Founding Fathers possessed; they knew what they were talking about!

Here's a video I came across that I thought was pretty neat. I LOVE America and I'm so thankful to live here. I just pray the Lord has mercy on us. We've certainly turned far, far away from Him
.

Controversial Yet Critical--A Topic I Can't Ignore

I've always been pro-life. But now that I'm pregnant, I'm PASSIONATE about it. I can't ignore the precious baby moving inside me...yes, I said it: baby. Not blob, not even fetus. A real, live, human baby.

I was recently made aware of a project going on called the Red Envelope Project--you can read more about it here. The basic idea behind this project, which was started by Chris Otto, is to send an empty red envelope to President Obama. Each empty envelope signifies a life that was taken because of abortion.

President Obama has made his views very clear when it comes to abortion. Taking a stand against such views almost seems like a lost cause, but GOD is in control, and He is the One who can change a man--we just need to do our part.

While I don't agree with President Obama (especially in regards to abortion), he is the leader of our nation--and in order to lead "peaceful and quiet lives", as the Bible says, I must pray for him.

Pray that his heart will be changed. Pray that he will see that children aren't a "punishment" but a precious gift.

There are a lot of other great sites that are doing their part in the fight against abortion. Abort73 is one of them. Here's a video from their site:

Lastly, here is a scripture I came across awhile back that I posted on our refrigerator:

Proverbs 24:11-12 (New Living Translation)

11 Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die;
save them as they stagger to their death.
12 Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.”
For God understands all hearts, and he sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.
He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

This scripture stands as a daily reminder that as a Christian, I have an obligation to protect innocent lives. What we do may seem insignificant--but God loves to use the powerless to show the powerful that He is still in control.

God takes life seriously--so should we.

Time to go buy some red envelopes!
